The 2013 IBSF World Under-21 Snooker Championship announced open with a toast among IBSF and CBSA officials in the presence of all players, referees and delegates from different parts of world participating in the competition.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Mr. Li Dazheng, Vice Director of Multi-Ball Sports in China welcomed all the players and officials in Beijing and wished success to the championship.
IBSF President, Jim Leacy, also welcomed everybody in the opening ceremony and the competition. He also thanked CBSA for hosting 2013 World Under-21 Snooker Championship in China.
Jim mentioned about the venue. He said "I have a look at the venue. Its a wonderful venue and it makes me very jealous to see what is being provided here in China and I just wish that we have more facilities like this around the world". He further mentioned that he has not seen such a venue in many years where apart from competition tables, 16 dedicated tables provided only for practice.
He also made a special note that all the people involved in providing such a magnificent venue deserves great applause.
Mr. Liu Zheng, the General Director of Rigour, thanked IBSF and CBSA for imposing their trust and allowing Rigour to sponsor the championship.
Prior to opening ceremony, there was all players meeting where Mr. Barrie Jones, the Tournament Director, apprised the players about tournament conditions. After that Maxime Cassis, the Head Referee, introduced all referees with new scoring system.
Mr. Jim Leacy, President and Mr. Mohammad Kammah, General Secretary IBSF were also present during the players and referees meeting.
